SHE : Then & Now

There was a girl...
Who loved to make new friends, years back
Now all she wishes is to be around a few countable ones.
There was a time when she believed others in just the first go,
Now she does not believe until some miracle would happen to make her do so.
There was a time when she would talk to friends and family for hours,
Now she calls them once in a while to check if they are okay and that's all.
There was a time she would bask in the sun and enjoy the rain,
Now all she desires is for a dim lit room and her own space.
There was a time she would cry over every small thing, being a too emotinal being,
Now to see her weep in happiness or sorrow is a forgone era.
There was a time she felt emotions,
Now all she knows is how to be neutral.
There was a time she fought for what she wanted,
Now all she does is let it happen,
It's not 'coz she does not care, but 'coz she is a little tired for now.
She looks at herself and wonders what was she before and what is she now,
But instead of freighting upon it, she prefers to sleep over it.

There is no scarcity of love and care within her still,
It is just that she needs some rest now, wants to sleep over this phase, as silence has become her new friend
But hopes to be back again to being her normal, when this passes away !!
